Well it has happened, GNU/Linux software is ready if you want to kick the "Microsoft Windows" habit. Yes, you can replace all that software with something else. Understand this, I am speaking about a total change in all your programs. You can keep Microsoft Windows around if you can't quit cold turkey, but once you switch you may enjoy life without Windows. Imagine, computers without any Microsoft Windows computer virus, or 'Internet Explorer's Active X' spyware.
One catch, all this software is Free. Free like snowballs in Saskatchewan in Febuary. Installation? Free. Support? Free. Sure you could hire someone to do this for you but many will not accept any more than a beer for helping people switch.
I have a large collection of two disk sets that you can have for free. One disk will manage the installation and the other will let you "try before you buy". Learn more about GNU/Linux by checking out these screen shots of Ubuntu GNU/Linux. With only 4,000 software programs that are available for free and legally yours to use, and modify, you may never miss your Microsoft Windows running on your computer. Ubuntu Linux, a free desktop operating system with a full suite of applications and documentation.
You do have other, "not Microsoft" choices, like the wonderfulMac Mini. but they are not free. I think that the Mac Mini is a great choice. Not everyone will agree that GNU/Linux is easy now. Just try it yourself and decide.
Keep the computer, toss all that software. Gnu/Linux is easy now.
